'Thundercats' tag team takes on canal challenge
A dedicated team of people from source tagging and RFID specialist company Catalyst are putting their best feet forward to prove they are a ‘cut’ above the rest, by taking part in the Grand Union Challenge, a 25km walk along the UK’s longest inland waterway.
On the 27th June, 18 members of the ‘Thundercats’ team based in High Wycombe, UK, plan to walk 25 kilometers (15.5 miles) as part of their aim to raise £10,000 for Cancer Research UK.
Parent company, Li & Fung, has also agreed to double what the walkers raise in addition to providing the ‘Thundercats’ t-shirts for the day and paying the team’s entry fee for this national challenge.
Training is going well and Catalyst Sales Director, Peter Dowse, said: “We will be walking along the Watford to Tring stretch of the canal and we have already raised almost £3000 of our target to date. We have a big team so we feel that the £10,000 target is achievable.”
“As a business, and as individuals, we decided to do the challenge because we wanted to get behind a great cause. Everyone has a connection with cancer, either directly or indirectly through knowing someone who is affected by this cruel disease.” he said.
We are all looking forward to getting out in the fresh air and enjoying some of the UK’s loveliest countryside near to the Chilterns, as well as raising some serious money.”
